This first post will be updated frequently with newest info. Your comments will follow in this thread.

This Pic is Hyperlinked to SubCom (My own site) hosting relavent info on this game and Multi-player options. Chk frequently for growing details. For Pics, See movie on site. N O W P L A Y I N G !

If you are interested in seeing Sub Command at Hyper Lobby server, DO NOT FAIL to express your interest, here, NOW!!

THATSHAYNE - SubCom - Dedicated to making SC Multi-play possible. - Actual pic of Virginia Class Sub firing MK48 ADCAP

"The circular extension under the nose is called a 'Chin' array. These boats are State- Of-The-Art 'listeners'. They don't even have a periscope persé! [They host a non-penetrating photonic mast instead of a standard optical (mirrors and lenses) periscope. That is, a scope that does not penetrate the pressure hull, is housed in the sail, and uses electronic camera and monitor surveillance.]* The sub is covered in a seamless, molded rubber substance and fitted top to bottom, front to back in many different array types. Although it is a nuclear attack sub carrying the standard MK48's and Tomahawk missiles, it hosts an ASDS (Advanced SEAL Delivery System - Mini Sub) as well as a 9 man SEAL Lock-out trunk for underwater frogman deployment. As potentially aggressive as she can be, she will spend a lot of her time using that Hi Tech sonar 'Mapping' the ocean floor and eavesdropping radio signals - collecting potential enemy data. Intel. (You mean this baby knows more about the ocean floor than God? - jk). It will know infinitely more about the ocean than satellites."

For those of you who have no clue, this game is the updated version of Janes 688(i) Hunter Killer, extremely detailed as such. It has seen extensive updates to graphics and vessels since, through SCX and SCU who are still updating it. It can be run through Keyboard or gamepad, and most of it can be run through voice command with a mic. In game, you have access and command of several officers and control rooms such as con, weapons, sonar, navigation, radar, periscope and TMA. It comes complete with a mission editor as well.

Batteries not included. Laughing

It's been around a couple of years, is compatible with all Windows O/S's, and is very reasonably priced.

It requires 233 Mhz PII or K6 processor with min 64 Mg RAM.
Recommends 350Mhz PII or K6 w 96 Meg RAM.

See http://207.44.164.159/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=18553&sid=9cd2586cb4c72dd3cfc7634243db187c for setup details.

I also hang at the www.subsim.com forum a bit...

If you express your interest in a server it might happen.... Laughing

If you do not, it definately wont. Shocked

Get the movie heheheee

I'd like to see it. ATM, it's difficult setting up times and such with all the people (from around the world) who want to play.

Click the Pic for a couple, otherwise, browse the subsim link i left, it is full of new work and new pics...

SCX and SCU have taken a good game and made it great. Now we just need a way to unite people around it, and for the first time give it it's shot at proper promotion and accessability... which someone has just pointed out, and I agreee, is sadly lacking. Hense, my efforts here.

My guess is that this sim will never be replaced, even by Dangerous Waters, as this one offers the ultimate platform of both stealth and devastation with graphics I suppose may never need to be replaced. They are awesome thx to SCX!

If it aint broke, don't fix it...

I don't want to drive a surface vessel if I can man a sub-surface vessel. Who does?

Not to knock or discredit Dangerous Waters (DW); but, unless they come up with something bordering on virtual reality, it might only damage the small, undeveloped community of sub enthusiests by splitting it. Graphics wise, at this point, it simply can't get any better than SC unless it is real. DW might draw a crowd and revive the sub community to some extent; but ultimately, people are going to come back to Sub Command SCX SCU because they are tired of falling prey, helplessly to the likes of that awesome predater depicted above that attacks from below.

Geeeeeeze, somebody pay me for this, I am selling myself!

I'll take ten plz. Very Happy

Here is a link to Comsa's screenshots. I believe they are either the original SC or SC + older mod screenies:

http://www.comsa.co.uk/screenshots.htm

and some of the unmodded screenies on the official page:

There are much better pics around. The first is a good pic of the Periscope room but the contact is viewed at night through night vission. Would be much better through the day.

Second pic is a vertically launched TLAM, TASM or Harpoon missile taking off but is an old pic. - old graphics.

The compsa site you linked is one of the better sites to get important files from I find, but those pics appear to be way out dated. The graphics are much better now.

I'll try and find some better pics.

Chk the Hyper linked Pic up top for movie on site.

Yeah - those are all older stuff. I'd take some screenies myself and hotlink them, but all the free hosts usually nuke my account for too much traffic and I'm too cheap to pay. Wink

Not sure what you mean Wingman...

Where is multi-player on-line? Or, where to purchase the game, or where's the creater's website???

Unfortunately, online is difficult to find at the moment, I can suggest leaving your expressed interest in having it set up here in this thread; and your name and available times at http://207.44.164.159/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=18553&sid=9cd2586cb4c72dd3cfc7634243db187c

Electronic Arts is the Publisher, and Sonalysts, the creators - if you want to purchase it... Go to any PC game Retailer \ PC games \ and key in Sub Command or : Amazon is good for New and Used in excellent shape. http://www.amazon.com/
