I need some help. We (roomate and I) both have fb/pf, and we share a cable thru a linksys router. We are unable to both connect to the same server...if one is connected, the other will kick the first guy off.

I tried forwarding udp 21001 to my box, and changing the port in the HL ini file to 21001 (left his at default) but that doesnt work.

We also play call of duty...had the same problem but on my box I run "C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDUOMP.exe +set net_port 28961" and it works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...for 2 years weve settled for
playing on seperate servers.

thanks-

abica and toast

Port forwarding is only needed if you are hosting. There is another setting in the hl ini file concerning local port ip.Try changing that to 0.I think it is 1 by default.

You can also try using all seeing eye to get the ips of some servers and then both of you try connecting directly from the in game multiplayer screen. If you can then you know the problem is with Hl .

Thanks for the reply...Ill try messing around with that setting. Although we fixed the problem (I had changed the port in the hl ini for IL2, but LOL theres an entry for FB that must be changed)

However, things are still a little 'strange' when we both connect to a server within a minute or so...so Ill mess with the other setting and report. Didnt really see why forwarding would matter, so Ill remove that.

In conclusion, my six was changing the FORGOTTEN BATTLES ip to 21001 in hlpro.ini. Cant believe it took me this long to find out how. Razz

Already did some nice mean drag n baggin last night, humans are way more fun to gang up on than AI pilots.

Guess I better get to my thread in the IL2 forum and post the fix.

thanks, seeya in the sky![/b]
