How do I obtain this update? and is it 411.1.1 or 4.11.1 or 4.11.1m?
Help because I am unable to join most room listed.

First let me say everyone is allowed to use this information in their web pages, edited any way they please. It's public domain and belongs to the IL2 community to help the new pilots bring their games up to current specs. I've tried to keep things simple so they don't get overwhelmed with the upgrade process. That said, here we go;

To get IL2 Sturmovik 1946 up to 4.11.1 standard, first install the game, then install the 4.08 update;

There is a nice video courtesy of the VMF/214 Black Sheep squadron explaining the patching process at YouTube. It's definately worth the viewing.

The VMF/214 Squadron has what they call a Service Pack, it one exe file, that is all inclusive and that will upgrade any version to 4.11.1 standard (reguardless of which patch version you apply it to.
