Launched at same period with anothers blockbuster-flight-simulatior, SDOE lack of merchandising
put this sim in the shadows for all this time.

With a dedicated community, this sim meet the light again, reaching a eye-candy level in the lastests
un-official patches (yes, the code still being worked and getting better and better). Great Flight
Models and an even increasing number of planes (+120), Tanks, Trucks, Jeeps and boats from
WW2 and WW1 - makes this sim an enjoyable Hobby.

Today you can "buy" (they say, it's free, only Shipping & Delivery) a copy from Free-CDsoftware for a
couple of bucks. Believe me it's a bargain Cool

Take a look in a couple of screenies, and take your own opinion Wink

For dozens more take a look in the screenies section - OpenPlane Sims Gallery

Cheers!

Hi Frog,

This sim uses the OpenPlane engine, each part of the plane could receive the proper accurated info
(shape, weight, area, resistance to the fire, resistance at hits and almost a hundred of values) wich
gaves you the "feel" how a warbird or a heavy bomber behaves.

This sucessfull engine was firstly used in A-10 cuba, a hit of Actvision. And is the engine for
the future release game - Birds of Prey, a WW1 sim by Wing With Wires team.

The best of this sim is the flexibility offered for this engine and the tools developed for moding, good
documented (at least the OpenPlane language). Also is pretty easy add new vehicles and planes, this
feature isn't hardcoded like in Jane's WW2 Fighters. So you can add hundreds of planes and vehicles.

The AI are Solid. If you wanna try a new plane put in the hands of an AI, if it could take off and land,
your plane is good Wink

They are also heavy dogfighters and not easy to be fooled, the values of hability, ferocity, lealty
and sanity are defined in the mission editor.

Cheers!
K-A

LMAO

Hi Ranker,

Yes 1998, a lot of time for a flight sim, oldtimers are even welcome Wink
Sorry, if we turn the original game in this other "junk" Laughing
and for these images - but they are hosted at our site, not
much to do...

Cheers!
