After starting HyperLobby, accepting the license agreement, then the user interface starts up but the error message pops open a window and when I close that window (by cliking "ok"), it all goes away. ...

I get the same error.

Alas, I don't remember what hw is in this system anymore - it's a Dell Dimenson 8200.

Here's the verinfo:
