installation path for FB will not work

the search function doesnt find FB, if i typeit in manually it says its wrong and if i do as the manual says an right click the icon and select properties and cut n paste it still says it isnt there....

any ideas? thx

I have windows xp and i cant get HL to work with FB either, ive tried reinstalling the game and reinstalling HL, type in the path and HL still cant find it LOL, what a piece of work, its comforting to know others have the same problem, hopin for a solution to my problem, i like HL the best, ubi and gamespy suck , but they work for locating my game LOL

Make sure you have the .exe on the end. A lot of problems have come from people not putting \il2.exe or \il2fb.exe on the end of the pathway.

worth a try.. I have xp and works fine.

Have "exe'" in path.
"C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\il2fb.exe"
gives me runtime error 52, HL can't find path.

"C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL2 Sturmovik\il2.exe" is path for IL-2
which works, and HL found it with it's search. Do you have IL-2 in
the same Ubi Soft folder with FB, Could that be the problem?

I was having the exact same problem until I stopped trying to copy/paste the path information from explorer. It finally worked for me when I lower-cased some of the path.

e.g.
C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik forgotten battles\il2fb.exe

This didn't work on the first try, and it kept telling me "cannot find" (or whatever), but it did eventually let me "save". Then when I got in the lobby, I clicked on a game in progress and it launched FB. (Although, I didn't have time to test it more and that particular game was full.)

Thanks all that posted, i cut and pasted the way it was typed in lower case and it worked. Hope this works for rest of you...the line is....

C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik forgotten battles\il2fb.exe

even though it is upper in Explorer hierarchy. They can be picky. Smile

Try install FB in to a simply path like c:\fb and then try locate the game. Its maybe a bug, but for me and other thousand ppls it working fine with default path.
