I noticed in my Hypelobby folder a file named "Chat Log" It seems that all my chat is archived there. Obviously this file will continue to grow. Will it cause any problem to either delete the file or some, if not all of the text on it?

You can delete the text and save the file. It want cause any problems.
If you wish, go into your hlpro.ini and disable the chatlog
