Game name :
Forgotten Battles (AEP+PF)

Competition name :
Scorched Earth

Link to the home page :
http://seow.sourceforge.net/

Name of the room :
SCORCHED EARTH

Names of the misson slots :
SE1,2,3

Description :
Scorched Earth is designed expressly to support cooperative (and competitive) on-line gaming between adversaries. Opposing commanders can assign whatever kinds of missions they wish to their own units, in order to achieve their objective. This is done using the Mission Planner web GUI, hosted by the campaign host on a public web site. The campaign host then combines all commanders' orders into a playable AEP/PF mission with a single click, which can then be hosted as an on-line coop mission. After the mission, the campaign host analyzes the events in the mission with a single click; the commanders review what happened, issue their next orders, the next mission is built, and the cycle continues...

Hello Jiri. Long time no talk. Its been nearly three years since we've spoken about the original rooms for VEF1.0

I am helping on a new project, known as Scorched Earth. Within that project I am running a sub campaign known as Luftkrieg. I would like to request a coop game room for Scorched Earth as an online campaign system as I am sure several campaigns will be run nightly. It is usually a one to two mission a night, per time zone system as it is mission planning based per side and merged.

- Game name : IL2 Forgotten Battles W/ Pacific Fighters Merged
- Competition name - "Scorched Earth"
- Link to home page - http://seow.sourceforge.net/
(my subcampaign is at http://kursk.trianglesimsociety.org/ )
- Name of the room will be displayed in HL - "Scorched Earth"
- Names of the misson slots wil be displayed in HL "SE1, SE2, SE3"
- Description : From our Features List -

There is no drudgery or artificiality with flying machine-generated missions: everything in Scorched Earth is created by humans in response to dynamic tactical situations. A true war simulation, based on a sequence of 1 hour missions!"

For a full list of campaign program features, click on FEATURES LIST at
http://seow.sourceforge.net/

Regards Jiri. I look forward to seeing what squadrons come up with campaign wise with this very powerful online tool.

For a list of sub projects pending, go to the official forums linked at our main site, and look for the developer's log in the scorched earth technical forums.

Check 6 everyone! Razz

Hi Jiri,

There has been a misunderstanding here. Murdock has been away from the community for some time for personal reasons, so he probably hasn't seen this thread. Hence there was no reply to your request. I only found out about the thread just now (sorry! I don't read these forums regularly).

Meanwhile, Scorched Earth is not just a single on-line war, it is an online war *system* used around the world now (download from seow.sourceforge.net). Most people running SE-style campaigns use the Scorched Earth Rooms at HL to assemble before missions. It is presently in active used by SE Xtreme, EAF, VFsMA/LeOs, 69.GIAP, D13th, OZFB, JG11, AG51, 242Sqn, RAF74, WTE, 450 and many other squads/campaigns. If you want proof, please visit:

OZFB: http://www.fauna.com.au/ozfb/ScorchedEarth/MP4/Statistics/MP-Missions.php?Sector=Ardennes

EAF: http://www.eaf92brigstock.com/MP4/Statistics/MP-Missions.php?Sector=Malta

VFsMA: http://geekcom.dyndns.org/se/Statistics/MP-Missions.php?Sector=GulfofFinland

I hope you understand that the Scorched Earth Rooms are not idle, and that they are used weekly by up to 32 pilots per mission. In future, since Murdock is away a lot, it might be best to communicate with me (4shades@amnet.net.au) directly, since I am lead developer of SE.

Please re-instate the Scorched Earth Room!

Cheers,
4Shades
