Hi everyone, i am new to HL and have been trying to play IL2 with a friend, but for some reason, i can't join his games, or host one that he can join. But we can both join a hosted game by someone else. And my mate can host and get others to join him!
It is frustrating, is there a post somewhere else on this or can anyone help please. We have been trying for 2 weeks now and no joy.

Sounds like Router setting
You or your friend would have to set up ports to allow for others
Read in the forums , cause theres sure to be some one else with the same problem, like me
I use router and cant join or host some game when I have > DSL modem connected to my router
So I just use the DSL Modem when I need to

I have may have found the answer, i just systematically disabled my firewalls until i got green bars, then turned them on again until i found the culprit. I still have other firewalls on while playing the game. I have found this during a game of SFP1. And a huge thx to Doghouse and Da.spungie for their assistance.
