I know that dexec.exe is a program, or file associated with HyperLobby. I am not sure what it doesn, but I noticed that in the past when I closed HL down, dexec.exe would continue to run. I had to tell it to end the process via task manager for it to stop, and I have now What exactly is dexec.exe? noticed that it does not come on at all. What exactly is dexec.exe, what does it do?

dexec.exe
the file your refering to is most likely a virus

dpexec.exe

I got runtime error 429 "you do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality" ...
Browse Hyperlobby Instalation folder and rerun aping.exe and dpexec.exe applications.

the above is from the
HyperLobby Online System FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

hope this clears this up for you there 2 different things all together

if it's in the hyperlobby folder then NO it's not a virus
if you find it anywhere other than the hyperlobby folder then it may well be a virus

dexec.exe is an application needed for games that use M$ direct play. Flight Simulator, European Air War and the like will not work on line without it through HL.
The application is not needed for IL2, so it wont start, but will automatically start when you enter a room that requires it. As for the not shutting down, that seems to be a bug. An old bug too.
