IL2 Sturmovik

Hi folks,

I just bought a downloaded version of IL2 Sturmovik. As far as I know its just that. Not the pacific fighters or lost battles or whatever. The current version it shows upon start up is V1.2

Question is, is there any patches I need for this version, if so, any idea where to get them? I found patches for pf_patch303.exe and so on... but I am guessing that is for the Pacific Fighters (expansion??)

Does anyone still play the IL2 Sturmovik version online anymore? (Just base version 1.2?) If so, how do I get my noobie butt into it, so I can be smeared across the landscape as I fly like a blind man with no arms.

Any help would be appreciated folks. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I still play the base 1.2 version. would you like to dogfight some time? There are not very many people that still play. Most have moved on to forgotten battles and 1946, which are just different versions that are for sale. This is the oldest version.

i play IL-2 sturmovik, do you play the online dogfights or cooperative??? if so wat is your server location so i can join

I recently purchased a new copy of the IL-2 Sturmovik (original). I've upgraded to the lastest patch from Ubi (1.2ov) and when I try to connect to a game, it says wrong version. Does that mean the player I'm trying to connect to has a different version, or do I need a different version to connect in general? Any ideas would be helpful.

i don't download the patches and that stuff i just install the game onto my computer and away i go

The patches are worth installing, they improve gameplay and even add some planes to fly.

I think most of the "older" IL2 series are still played on UBI. But I haven't flown there in years.

About 99% of the servers here in Hyperlobby are 4.06. So just p/u a copy of 1946 at your local Walmart....they should have for about $20.00 or so.

I'm new to this forum. I' ve bought IL2 1946, but in hyperlobby I' don't see this choice to play online, i've tried to put the path of the il2.exe for 1946 but i' doesn't work.

Go to the forgotten battles game selection most of the servers areversion 4.08m and some are the newer beta version 4.09

with that said you will need to download the 4.08m patch if you havent already i think filefront ? has it there is a french site that has it and the 4.09 patch where you do not need to register you must have this patch to play though. just google il2 4.08m patch download

Hi thanks you for the answer, but my issue is more that in the Hypperlobby list of games I don't find IL2 1946, I see IL2, PF, or FB but not this one, and when I launch a search on my drive, even if the .exe for IL21946 is found, that does not work

Or do I need to choose another option ?

DUDE

Forgotten battles is where you conect with 1946 all games listed under 1946 in the game select section of HL are for either V4.08 (IL2 Sturmovik 1946 or Beta V4.09)

FORGOTTEN BATTLES is were everyone who has il2 Sturmovik 1946 patched to either V4.08 or beta 4.09 connect and play give it go mate but remember if you are not patched to either of the above then the game will start but you will get an error stating wrong version...

Ok game select is forgotten battles

pick any of the games on the left (there are normally heaps 400+) pick with a low ping EG lots of green bars

and select Join Game

if you re patched to 4.08 then you should get in

the game area to select in hyper lobby is Forgotten Battles all games listed there are il2 Sturmovik 1946

Pacific Fighters is only for the original PF game 1946 does not work in here

IL2 is for the original V1.2 IL2 Surmovik and again 1946 does not work here

in the forgotten battles game select it does and basically the game is an all in one installation and not 3 seperate programs eg All planes from PF FB and the new developments are included in simple user menu
