vista again

I've tried the xp sp2 compatibility option and it doesn't work. When is this going to get sorted out? I really want to play this game online but i don't know how to without this program. Thanks!!!

I'm getting the file is not valid error and won't install.

Unfortunately Microsoft Windows Vista is at best "crap-ware".
While poorly thought out is is also unyeildy and overly protected
from the operator's input.

At least it looks nice.

I am getting my baptism in the way's and won'ts of Windows Vista.
There is some good advise on using it posted here in HL.

I used the safe mode method and got HL to work.

Best advise is, If you presently own a version of XP, DON'T UPGRADE!!!!.

Vista has a long way to go before it's worth it. Right now those of us
who got suckered into purchasing this POS are stuck being Willie Gates's
Guinie Pigs.

We desperately need a competitor to Microsoft!

When you put disk in close out start up screen.Then go to My Computer,right click IL2_1946 choose explore. Right click "IL2 Sturmovick 1946" choose "Run As Administrator". This was the only way I could install on my sons computer with Vista.When you start game you may need to use run as administrator on the desktop icon,it was the only way my sons would recoignize the joy stick.
