Hi all, I have successfully installed Hyperlobby and created my own user name and password, but every time i try to log on, an error message saying " runtime error "6", overflow" appears, and then the program quits. Can someone help me fix this? Much appreciated! |

This seems like a problem better answered by Jiri.
I suggest you try installing the latest version of "Runtime" Visual Basic.
It's a variable overflow thing. To large a value stored in a variable
intended for a smaller value.
Since no one else seems to be having this problem I would suggest
you make sure you have a minimum amount of stuff running in background.
Re-install HL.
Try the latest version of "Runtime".
Good luck, let me know how you make out.
I will try to do some more digging.
But it looks like you may have a resource sharing issue
or a corrupt system file/program.
Runtime error 6 is rarely seen by anyone other than code writers.
Sumtinwong there.

Salute Sgt. Slaughter,
just reporting we have another occurence of this error on a non-developer PC
A previous OS trouble might be the cause. Some visual distortion was reported on HL start (innapropriate lines/stripes passing the HL VB.window on startup)
Quote: | It seems to start, even the player list opens, but suddenly *POP* ! Strange stripes appears and it says "Runtime Error '6' : Oveflow".
I had this problem some times before already but not sure how i fixed it ... |
We shall give you more feedback as we proceed the above proposed remedy actions.
Should you have any fresh news about RTError #6 remedy, pls. tell us.
Thank you,
Slaughter

try this
open your
hlpro.ini file
look for this section
;Resize multiplier for HL window.
;For 800x600 resolution is optimal value 1 ...
;For 1024x768 resolution is optimal value 1.25 ...
;For 1280x1024 resolution is optimal value 1.5 ...
Scale=1
be sure that your scale is at 1
hyperlobby defaults to the wwII fighter lobby when opening until you select another lobby
for some odd reason if you resize it and HL tries to open the WWII Fighter lobby it will give this error and closes
if the scale is at 1 then it opens fine and you can select the lobby that you want to go to
hope this helps |

Hey guys, I managed to trigger a runtime 6 overflow alarm!
It happened when I was fooling around with the attempt to open
two Hyper Lobbies at the same time on the same computer.
Two Hyper Lobby can be run at the same time, (No I will not tell how...)
but when trying to open both quickly I got the runtime error. AND I
was able to duplicate the error.
I wonder if one of you has a a fast automatic double click on your mouse?
Anyway, I was able to cause it. Perhaps it will help find the cure
for your problem.
