Network and/or Browser errors
In case the appropriate eyes catch this.....
Anybody out there have any tips or tricks on helping some guys who can't get past the login page?
There's some guys out there that would like to express their excitement about the possibility of a new server, but are stuck.
They reply to the email verification link. Then it gets stuck from there. They've tried IE 6&7 and Firefox. Even after clearing out their browsers. Seems to be happening to 6 guys at least.
Thanks guys. |

I managed to log on without much trouble, even though I probably have one of the slowest connections around. I must ask, how long did they (the poor blokes who couldn't log in) wait to respond via the link in their e-mail? If they waited for longer than 24 hours, then their unactivated account was deleted. They would need to reapply to the site in order to get another activation letter. Does that clear anything up? |

Firepower was another add-on that I had forgot to mention.
Firepower can be played IP to IP if the other players have Firepower as well.
Now if your Firepower B-17 has been altered it will not match the other players F/P B-17's.
I do understand your point. If it's been altered...I won't be playable.
But....
If you host a firepower game, you can choose not to allow the B-17 into your game. Then anybody who has Firepower can join. The B-17 will not be called for in your game.
For those who do not know. The game match feature was established in CFS3 as a result of the cheating capabilities of CFS2.
Aircraft and weaponry have to match in order to join a game. That way a stock Spitfire won't get hammered by another Spit with Tempest cannons.
MAW matches to MAW...Giving a ton of aircraft to choose from. OFF to OFF....PTO to PTO...and so on.
Did I make that too confusing Sand? |
Hey all ...
Just wanted you to know ... I am able to sign on here

Don't really know....But judging by their responses...I really don't think they waited all that long.
Sometimes browsers are screwy with certain sites. I've come acrossed it before with other subjects. So often it really doesn't seem out of the norm anymore.
Only reason I can think that I don't have problems is due to running registry cleaners. I also don't run any adware protectors...Always found them to be a nuesence....I just run pop up blockers at a medium strength.
Really don't know what causes it. |

Just to expand on logging error, the people having problems say they can view the this thread fine until they try to log in then they cannot see a way to get back to forum I don't know if they don't see a tab or login page goes nowhere don't know those details but we have some people pretty anxious to get in on the thread.
Thanks

Between Simouthouse (SOH) and Missions Operations Group (MOG) I believe that we would be looking at 50 players or more.

RUSTY you may have under estimated slightly - by my count of just people who have hosted games [from my IP list] , I count 64 , there must be at least that many again that can't host , and this is without the MOG group included , [ok maybe a few closet dogfight loving MOG's might be in here under an alias] hee hee - one eye |

I could have...I always hate to over estimate and usually under shoot it.
Last I counted at SOH was after the server went down, we had approximately 80 join SOH just due to that reason. After that was a guess as they began to dwindle.
Plus I really only the idea of how many MOG guys I've met by meeting them on line. There a pretty large group.
Rethinking it...I could only guess at maybe over 100. |

Hey guys, I just applied over at GameFlood.com, which is a place where game modders, programmers, artists, and testers meet to share files, info, mods, and other stuff. Do you think I could get some of them to help out with the server issue? |

I think it would be great to see CFS3 at hyperlobby, there were alot of dedicated flyers that flew online on CFS3 game match server till it got taken down.It think would be a great addition to hypelobby.

Hi Guys,
Great idea for the cfs3 server
There are many new members to the OFF site at SOH
Common question is "Where can we play on-line?"
With P3 coming out soon, I'm sure there'll be a large community
Cheers, |

Hi guys joined to add my support as requested by rusty and one-eye "bbblink" . Seriously though would be great if we could get a cfs3 server up and running. The more of us behind this the better, so count me in!

I think cfs 3 will see a huge resurgence of interest once phase 3 of OFF is released.A cfs3 room on hyperlobby would be a great way forward. |
