ive played AH2 for awhile now and wanted to try out IL2,, ive had enough offline and wanted to get online,,
well ive followed the instructions and i cant get hyperlobby to recognise the game file path,,
its driving me nuts how hard can it be,,, seems this game was never intended for online use,, or its an arse about way to get there,,,,
i have version 4.07 where is the best place to update the patch and then what do i need to do,,,
would greatly appreciate some help with getting online as i can see how the gameplay could be great fun,, but im not going to hit my head against the wall much longer,,,

It's time for a stickey on this subject.
If HL can not find the path you got to follow the FAQ procedure and
manually tell it where it is!
This dialog can be forced by pressing CTRL+SHIFT and left-clicking on the CONNECT button. There are two ways to enter the correct game-installation folder:1. Type the game path into the text box with the name of the game executable, for example "C:my gamegameapp.exe", then press the Save button.
2. Left-click the Search button and wait until HL finds your game folder. Then double-click on the correct item and select save.
If you think that both of these methods have failed, right-click your game icon, select properties, and copy and paste the game path into the textbox and left-click the Save button. (If nothing works, try reading this manual from the beginning.)
The patc might look like this
"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe"
or, for 64 bit OS
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe"
If you are running (yuk) Vista you may need complete Administrators rights.
i have folowed the procedure you have outlined to the letter as this was the original instructions on hyperlobby,,,appears to be a paste of their method...
however this is not working for me and i have no idea why,,,,my game works perfectly offline,, so the path in properties is correct,, which is,,
yes ive tried it without the "" and still doesnt work i am using version 3.07 and tried to download 3.08 dedicated server,, this doesnt appear to have changed anything,,,,,,if i need to load a more uptodate patch does anyone know the link.....

any ideas ill try "almost" anything,, getting bored of aces high and really wanna get some air time online in IL2,,,so all suggestions will be taken seriously

OK I GOT IT phew
make sure you upload the latest version 3.08
make sure your hyperlobby password isnt too long,, otherwise the server clips it and doesnt tell u then when u enter what you think is your password it wont accept it,,,
make sure you select pacific fighters,, not IL2 sturmovik,, der,,
there has to be an easier way,,, with aces high you just click on the bloody icon and whammo,,,your online...
never mind i guess this things free compared to that game...
also sticky these instructions and any or all other mistakes that people may have made trying to log on,, then im sure peeps like myself can browse it and eventually figure out where they goin wrong..
