New member - noob questions...

Hi all!

I have played IL-2 for many years but just recently got it online...

This has resulted in lots of questions and I hope to get some of them answered here.

1: Is there any unwritten rules? (other than the ones for each server)
For example - I've noticed how some pilots turn on their position lights when they come in to land, is this a general signal to alert others that they are on approach?

2: Does it make any difference if the canopy is open or closed? Since the hood can be opend on some machines, or is it just for fun?

No rules other than the server rules and of course Jiri's lobby ettiquette rules.

Cockpit optional or cockpit enforced is all about viewing the
interior of the cockpit.

It's a matter of preference.
