From reading your post I assume your game will not run even off line.
Try opening the il2set.exe and try using the safe settings for video and sound.

Failing that try moving the game installation folder out of the program files of Program Files (x86) inn the case of Vista64 into the C root directory.

A new computer even with integrated video should run this old game easily.

Then I suggest you inform us of your operating system service pack, sound
and video cards etc.

Most any computer even with Vista should run this game just fine.

What video resolution have you set the game at?
Is it greater than your monitor can support?

Try 1024X768 or lower.

Also try Open GL or Direct X safe settings.

I am running out of ideas since this old game gives little trouble.

Good Luck.

if your disc is a blue-ish color with white silk screening print then you have a securom disc. This was a european release and has installation issues with IL2.

follow instructions in this link
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/49310655/m/1111005127

for installation then you will need to check your PMs in this forum for the final step.

Il2 sturmovik FB used to work nice before sp1.Since sp1 for vista 64 game just can`t start.
I will try one more time to install and start game because i made c&c generals to start and problem looks same.

Edit:
It is not cd protection because cracked exe can`t start just like original one.

yes, i DLed and ISed it, but i'm still having the same types of problems. i think it may be something else. when i reinstall, the first time i did it, a box game up with all the recommended graphics and settings, i changed them to what might suit my cpu better, but every time i reinstall that box will not show up
