I have been unable to use hyperlobby for the last month
due to a really bad ping, in fact if I ping the server I get no
ping reply. Traceroute shows there is a connection to the server,
but as I said, no ping. I can connect to HL and even join
a game but of course there's no point in it.
I have checked with my ISP and they have verified it is not
a problem on their side.
I am wondering if there is some blocking in place from Hyperlobby
with any Australian ISP's due to some idiot that got banned.
I thought I'd post this question in here and hopefully someone
can shed some light on this as it is driving me nuts not being
able to go online. HELP... give me my ping back!

You seem pretty desperate. Post up your system info with connection type/network settings and isp. firewall and anything other you might think of just like the sticky thread at the top of this technical support forum. You wont get help unless you do.

It could be a number of things.. If you are FB player you can see the ping within the game by pressing the *S* key.

My ISP is www.alphalink.com.au, my connection is dial-up/modem
56.6k. Not going through firewall except personal one (ZA),
have tried with it off - no difference. OS Win98. Have verified
with my ISP no changes done on their side, they also tried
ping - no reply, traceroute showed server online.

Have had no problems with this setup for years,
usually average ping.

Thanks for your replies.
