Hi Jiri...

Have read all the posts about changing paths for executables. But what I want to know is where exactly is the path information stored?

In Falcon SP3 I have come up with a fix to a problem that many players are experiencing. The executible path is functioning, yet somehow gets corrupted or something and player can no longer join a game without manually entering the IP. This happened to me and I don't want to elaborate on how I solved the problem now as it is would take a long time.

Thanks,

DewDog

While waiting for answer from Jiri, have discovered the fix is a lot simpler than my original investigation. When players have right path to their falconsp.exe, yet lose the ability in HL to get the host's IP, simply have them re-open the path search of HL by using the Ctrl-Shift, Connect method in the manual. Then retype in the path to the .exe and it starts working correctly again.

Jiri - I don't know why this is necessary, but it works.

BTW the path for every games is stored under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths

Thank you Jiri. Very valuable information. Now at least we can go to regedit and see wot heck is going on there.

Yep, I see two path names in there. One I recognize as what appears to be a HL created path and it is trashed up some. The other is probably HL path also but the one I typed in the correct path.

bye,
