I've got HL installed in:
G:\Programs\Hyperlobby
i.e, not in C:
the auto-updater does not recognize this and installs
the update in C:\program files\.... anyway, which ends
up ruining the whole installation.
PS: Oh, and btw... thanks for ruining a good evening for me.
Is there any way I can pay for a version which works, and
doesnt sieg-heil forces me to update? /flame |

So do not use autoupdate but download/install install new version manually. |

So the work-around is:
1: - Let Hyperlobby try to automatically install whereever it thinks the previous installation is.
2: - Copy everything from the NEW Hyperlobby folder the updater created:
probably: "C:\Program Files (x86)\HyperLobby client"
...to the folder where HL actually IS installed.
(By the way, shouldn't having to create a new folder when updating throw
some kind of an exception somewhere in the code?)
3: Remove the newly created HL-icon.
4: (oh, and wait the extra 30 seconds enforced to read the EULA once again)
Repeat every update...
*sigh* |

Fix is already done
quote from 4.2.3 release news:
Quote: | Installer will remember your last installed location and during autoupdate it will update previuos installation. If you had problem with this, skip autoupdate, download and install HL by standart way and select your destination folder. Next autoupdate will honor that destionation folder automatically. |
With your sugestion you will screw every update again and again ...
And for sure:
http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7726
If your problems will repeat in next autoupdate you may open new topic again.
