Every time I try to connect to a server I get a "hyperlobby remote host failed" error. I did some researching and found that if I changed one of the settings to DetectLocalIP = 0 it might work. Well I did that and I am still getting the errors I am fully patched and running the UP 2.01 mod. I also have the steam version and my windows firewall is turned off.
Edit ---
Updated the UP 2.01 mod files forwarded two different ports and used a port checker to confirm they were correct. Tried hosting a game myself and the person who was trying to help me at the time couldn't join me because of the same error timedout error. |

you need port 21000 (game default) open on UDP and TCP for the game to connect make sure these are open in your router or no one will connect to you or you to them
also try using just 409 to start with because then you will know if it's UP or a game issue that is causing the time out |

2100 are open on my ports and I even tried a direct connect to my modem with no use. I backed up my files before I did any modding and when the modded version didn't connect I tried to do it with the standard 409 and that still gave me the same error. |

ok np
make sure that 21000 is being opened for the correct computer if it's trying to open that port for the wrong computer then no one will connect to you or you to them |

what do you mean you had to create a static ip ??
router work in this fashion they take the external ip the one the internet sees 70.165.25.13 and then you attach your pc to the router and it then
assigns an internal ip to your pc for you
EG:192.168.0.101 this is an internal windows ip and there is one assigned to each pc you connect to the router
so in your router software usually opened in an internet browser there is an area for port forwarding where you open the port you want and it asks you for a ip to forward that open port to the specified PC
if you haven't done this then you'll never play online because you will never get a connection
hope this helps you |
