S! All,
Hoping someone has seen this connection issue before.
I'm having a problem hosting games, but its only a problem for ONE of my squadmates. All my other squadmates can connect to my servers every time no problem, but one of my mates keeps trying and he gets first a warning message, then a timeout. It goes something to the effect of:
"The game you're trying to connect to is not hosted as public, your connection might fail, are you sure you want to continue?" Y/N...
To which he say's YES of course, only to be timed out every time and unable to connect.
Strange things - I'm not using passwords or any other type of security that I know about and also, this guy can connect fine to other servers and even other's hosting within my squad, just not me!
Been doing searches and having no luck, hoping someone here can direct.
Thanks,
DaddyO

Hi Jiri! thanks for the response!
Yes, he can usually...he's been able to connect to other folks hosting, just not me.
He usually just gets this problem trying to connect to my machine as a server. However, all my other squadmates have no problems getting into my server.
thanks

S! Jiri,
No we're not on the same ISP, completely different companies altogether.
(ATT vs Verizon), we both do have routers though from our respective ISPs.
thanks,
D. |

S! thanks for the replys..
No direct IP connect doesn't work either. So HL's probably off the hook there. I posted here cause you folks might be likely to have seen this before.
Its just a problem between one squadmate and myself, my other mates can connect to me just fine, and the problem-child can connect to other mates that I can connect to. Just not to me!
The search continues.
Heres what I've tried so far:
- ensuring CRT=0 in my server
- ensuring our server net speeds are both set the same
- ensuring both of use have any of our AC Mods folders turned off(-mods)
- trying to turn off checkservertimespeed on his machine = 0
- being double-sure we're both running the same version of any mods
- turning off my firewall completely
Next up asking him to run the UP2 file updater/restore util to be sure he's valid |
