Never used Nortans firewall. Aping.exe needs access to the internet and make a rule to allow incoming and outgoing ping (ICMP echo). so you see eachothers latancy.
Hope this helps. |

You find this small application residing in your Hyperlobby installation directory.
aping.exe is what pings other players. If I block it from the internet with my firewall all I see is all red on everyones pingmeters. |

This is where it should be.
You might want to ask someone who owns Norton's to guide you through the proper procedures. Better yet give Norton's support a call. And let them tell you how. I have told you what is needed by allowing aping and allowing incoming and outgoing ping (ICMP echo).
The rest is up to you sorry as I do not use Norton's.
Someone might read this who owns it and speak up but it cant hurt to ask at Hyperlobby chat too.
Also posting your complete systems specs helps as well like in Jiris sticky thread up top of tech support.
He wont answer unless you do. |

By default Windows XP does not show file extensions for known file types, and this needs to be enabled in order to see the aping.exe
To enable this option go to "Control Panel/Folder Options/View/"
and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types and Apply.

You will be ok to leave this option enabled as it only allows the end of the file types to show..but if you want to hide the "extensions from showing"
option it will most likely work fine also, although i havent tried this option myself.
