Hello.
As the title says, I drop from the Lobby while I'm playing, this usually happens 10-30 minutes after entering a game (heard this from squadmates that were in lobby while i was in game)
When I quit the game and the lobby jumps up, all the slots and player list are empty, but the "connect/disconnect" button says "disconnect", as if I was still connected... I have to press the disconnect button and then connect again, and it's back to normal.
My connection is stable and fast (university LAN) and I don't time out from games.
I'm behind a NAT though, and the admins won't open any ports for me . Could this cause my problem? I also see all the pings red.
The annoying part is that sometimes my friends don't know that I'm online, squadmates usually find me from TeamSpeak server but
for other buddies I'm invisible. |

Well, got more problems... now the Lobby occasionally freezes when I'm waiting in a slot. Only way to see that it has frozen that the chat is not running anymore. I have to reconnect, which means i drop from the slot where i was (like VEF slot). This is really annoying |

Its caused by bad network confition or by bad windows condition. Change your ISP or reinstall windows .... By your choice |

Problem solved!
A friend suggested that disabling the chatlog might help. And it did, the freezes are gone |

Looks like it didn't help after all
I'm sure it's not my connection, and my Windows should be ok too. Wouldn't really want to reinstall... |

Same problem here, no freezes while waiting, but as soon as HL goes to sleep while in game it wont reconnect, and I have to restart it to join another game.
also, I tried to host a game, and while the few that joined at the beginning got in fine, a late arrival couldnt see my room, and when they tried to join by "join a friends game" it said info wasnt available. joined fine by ip tho.
this is consistent through two machines, an HL update, and 3 system installs. it may be the nuances of my cable provider, but I think Ive safely ruled out the other options.
HL is still great for the price but for these little bugs I have no complaint at all. |

Glad to hear I'm not alone with this problem
A little update on my situation: The freezes while waiting are gone now, don't know what fixed (or caused) it. I didn't reinstall Windows or change any settings anywhere. Maybe it was something my ISP did.
But I still keep dropping while in game. Not that it bothers me so much anymore. I'm not able to host myself (see above) so it isn't a major problem... But I feel your pain Icarus
Edit: Haven't yet said this but I agree with you that it's a great piece of software for it's price |
