This problem will be history in short time ... Today i start new version of the HL server that can handle up to 2000 players.
BUT here is few issues that will be fixed in the next version of the client:
1./ When you got back from a game, the lobby will crash and you will ned to restart it ...
2./ I have never tested that huge ammont of conections, so the chat can be laggy and the HL server may crash ...
3./ Any unpredictable things. Remember, the server have some new major code update...
I need to watch and report ANY issues than not happened before this upgrade, so please post it in to this thread ... |

Hi Jiri and thanks for maintaning this great service to us!
I just saw a problem that might be related to this new test-server:
When I host or join a IL2FB game with HL the HL-client will try to "reconnect" in the background, using up some CPU - on our F16_Dedicated it is about 20%.
The problem is the same whether you join, host dedicated or non-dedicated server. I'm worried that this might affect lag/stutter situation.
Anyone can confirm this issue?
Regards & S!

thank you for working on !
as i cried around before i am very thankful for your work !
and as i said, hyperlobby is a great tool.
another hint could be to restrict the chat to 150-200 people and open a chat on a website for hyperloby users. or open an irc channel
just an idea

Test report:
During yesterday "test 3" we got 1045 users (maybe more, i stop watching it at this number), but after some time for just unknown reason (bad coding ) HL server got GPF (General Protection Fault) and was automaticaly restarted ... Its hard track this kind of error, but not imposible Good news is that issues from test 1 and test 2 are fixed ... |

The HL server use cluster?? Maximum user limit 1045???
Use a simple IRC server: 65535 users with 20-30.000 rooms ...
ircd run under 486 with 64 mb ram ...
what is the problem? I 'm a C++ programmer ..
i can help you! send some problem, and i make a solution (i hope )! (off curse full free!!)
the HL is a great ! GREAT!! JOB!! But i think need more programmer, that you can make a greatest HL!! With 65535 users and 20-30000 rooms ... |

Hello Jiri.
Maybe you know this problem, but im reporting just in case.
I got this problem:
When I join a game, i can read in chat: "connection closed".
IL2 starts, but HL keeps trying to reconect every 10 seconds, it connects, and conection is closed inmidiatly. This loops till IL2 is closed, and reconect is now ok.
This is what is loged into chat log:
Code: |
"31/01/2005 2:11:47 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> START !!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<"
"31/01/2005 2:11:58 * > Connected ..."
"31/01/2005 2:12:09 * > Connected ..."
"31/01/2005 2:12:19 * > Connected ..."
"31/01/2005 2:12:29 * > Connected ..."
"31/01/2005 2:12:39 * > Connected ..."
"31/01/2005 2:12:50 * > Connected ..."
.
.(more Connected lines)
.
|
Thanks very much for your HL, great work!!

This continuous reconnecting is known problem with current HL client. The same way will be used for new version of HL but with bigger time and without those messages in to the chat ... |
