Computer manufacturer: home
CPU: Intel P4 1.7
RAM: 768 MB Rambus
HDD: Western Digital 60GB
VGA: PNY Ti4400
OS: WinXP Pro SP1 & security updates
Games: FB,PF merged
HL Version: 3.8.80 beta
Internet Explorer version: 6.0026
& Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

Uninstall and reinstall with no other programs running in the background.
It has worked for others who have this error.

Had tried un-installing & re-installing, beofre but will give it another go & make sure I have all other programs shut-down.
