Hello.
I use Hyper lobby to play IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles online.
When I click on "join server", my game attempt to connect to the server for about 1 or 2 minutes, then I get the message: "Connection attempt to remote host failed. Reason: Timeout".
I'm currently using a router and in the routing table setup I specified that all connections to port 21000 UDP must be redirected from the router (internal IP: 192.168.0.1) to my machine (IP: 192.168.0.2) but when I try to join a server, the mapping table (in the router) shows me that the request on port 21000 in UDP is not redirected to 192.168.0.2 but it's still on 192.168.0.1 (internal router IP).
After many tries, I'm sure that the router configuration is OK and it works correctly with all the other ports except for the 21000.
There is another section (Special applications) in router setup, it says:
"Some applications require multiple connections, such as Internet gaming, video conferencing, Internet telephony and others. These applications cannot work when Network Address Translation (NAT) is enabled. If you need to run applications that require multiple connections, specify the port normally associated with an application in the "Trigger Port" field, select the protocol type as TCP or UDP, then enter the public ports associated with the trigger port to open them for inbound traffic."
Does Il2 Sturmovik use a multiple connection? How can I configure it?
Thanks in advance for help.

Hi,
01. Remove port forwarding for game. You don't need to forward any ports from router if you wanna play, you need to forward ports only if you are hosting game
02. Disable Windows firewall or any other software firewall on your PC.
Best regards.

Hy.
Port forwarding removed. Same problem. If i use the modem via USB, all OK, it can connect to server.
I don't use software firewall, only hardware firewall in the router, i try to disabled it, but some problem.....

Hi.
Problem solved. Is the network bridge that block the connection to server.
I don't know why.
I disable it and all work.
My network adapter is a Realtek RTL8169.

This one is common. Try this:
After you are online but before you join game: 1. Click the 'Setup' found in your game folder;
2. Click the tab for 'Network';
3. Click the 'IP' to pull down a list of IPs;
4. Choose the last IP, whatever that is.
That worked for me. Now if someone could help me with my "run-time error '0' Overflow" problem in connecting HyperLobby...
