Hi everyone - just signed up .. Having had Il-2 FB for over a year now and never getting around to playing I have had a chance to have a go and the game is brilliant.

I then found out about HyperLooby which appears to be the place to be to play it on-line.

However having just logged on I have got an error message saying the server is using version 4.02m?

What do I actually need to have in terms of updates/patches to get on?

At the moment I just have Il-2 FB version 1.22 and the Battle Over Europe add-on pack.

Any help gratefully appreciated so that I can get on-line and offer people who know how to fly their planes properly some target practice!

Cheers

Andy

You will need to get the Ace Expansion Pack(AEP) AND Pacific Fighters.AEP is getting hard to find. There is a "Gold Pack" available that is a combination pack.It includes both Forgotten Battles and AEP.There is some talk of a platinum dvd that has all three but is not available as of yet.

AEP is an expansion pack to Forgotten Battles.Pacific Fighters can be installed in one of two ways(or both). As a standalone game.(There is a seperate room for Pacific Fighters.)Or as a merged install.(FB+AEP+PF)There is only one box for Pacific Fighters. The choice is made at the install screen. Then you will need patches 3.03m(for merged),4.01m and 4.02m.

95% of the online flyers fly the merged version in the Forgotten Battles room.

There might be some FB 1.22 servers over at Ubi.com.If you did the full install there should be a "play at Ubi.com" button on your multiplayer screen.

Great - finally tracked down a copy of Aces Expansion Pack!

Now have merged FB+AEP+PF and am downloading the various patches.

What disc do I need in my PC in order to play when I try to join a HyperLobby game?

Cheers

Andy

Once you have all 3 games do a merged install.FB+AEP+PF+3.03m(100 meg version)+4.01m+4.02m.You only have to patch PF.

To play you need disk 2 of PF.
