Yesterday I reinstalled IL-2 on new PC with XP SP2 (IL-2 v4.07, Team Speak, TrackIR, Wingman Stick, Internet …all is now OK).
Unfortunately I was not able to install HYPERLOBBY, the last but not least key element of my Simulation configuration...
Here are the steps I followed:
1- Download HYPERLOBBY - hlpro39111.zip
2- Extract his content and then launch hlpro39111.exe
3- Follow the install procedure and complete Setup with Finish button
4- HL Pro 3.x Client shortcut is installed on my desktop
5- Launch the HL Pro 3.x Client shortcut … Then, nothing happens …
6- Exactly the same if I start the executable directly from the Start Menu or the Windows Explorer …
No window, no error message … Nothing happens when I click the HL shortcut.
I also tried it:
- Without Firewall (in case of network connection attempt during the install? My Network connection works perfectly)
- With my Antivirus deactivated (norton)
- Checked my Administrator rights on XP…
I installed HL several times in the past on a lot of XP SP2 PCs and never encounter this problem. In the normal procedure, after launching the HL Pro 3.x Client shortcut the license agreement screen should appear and prompt me if I agree with the terms. Then the configuration steps in HL interface should start …
I really do not understand what the problem is!
Maybe I missed something …
I need help!
Thanks
Madison

Finally found the reason why !
As HL is written in Visual Basic I reinstalled all Visual Basic Runtimes (from V3 to V6) in my Windows System folder ... just in case and ...BINGO !!
Hope this will help if someone has the same problem in the future !

Thanks for sharing that Madison, glad you got it going OK - I had a similar issue sometime back but it was caused by Spyware - I deleted everything that Ad-Aware found and it resolved the problem - had you not answewred your own thread as it were, I would have suggested to try this.
Have you any idea what stops the Swastika enabler (downloadable from Hyerlobby) working with IL-2 1946.
I'm no swastika fan, but I do like things to at least look as historically accurate as possible.
Happy New Year!

Sorry, no precise idea Mark ...
Anyway even if I don't know the Jiri-Fojtasek's version (I should regarding the great work he has done with HL !! ) I saw a lot of treads talking about that in the last 3 weeks...
It seems there are a lot of software utilities to do that and they all have the same problem with 1946 ! So may be the solution is the same for them all !?
