Hello all I got just one month playing on Hiperlobby... the first two weeks my ping on public servers usually was between 160 and 270 I guess... the icon that is on the superior right corner of the screen on il2 usually was with 2 green squares and sometimes with just one

But now in this last 2 weeks my ping has jumped and sometimes I can reach 700 or even more of course im getting kicked from public servers and when I join the games created by my friends im getting a terrible lagg since the lower ping I can get is something like 400.

The only changes I have made on my game or my system is that now im runing IL2 1946 instead of the merged version of the game but Im pretty sure that blaming the change of version for this problem is stupid...I have made few speed tests on this site http://www.speedtest.net/ using diferent servers and this is what I got

2/1/2007 12:52 AM GMT 921 kb/s 333 kb/s 85 ms Kansas City, MO ~ 2000 km

2/1/2007 12:53 AM GMT 1752 kb/s 353 kb/s 113 ms Monterrey ~ 500 km

2/1/2007 12:27 AM GMT 1968 kb/s 200 kb/s 204 ms Munich ~ 9550 km

2/1/2007 2:12 AM GMT 1187 kb/s 177 kb/s 236 ms Saint Petersburg ~ 9800 km

2/1/2007 12:22 AM GMT 1944 kb/s 309 kb/s 101 ms Twin Cities, MN ~ 2550 km

Just for curiosity I made another test I reinstalled the game diablo II (it has been two years since the last time I played the thing) and logged on blizzard east server ... My ping was around 140 and 315. (the usual ping I used to have when played D2 regularly)

Im having only problems with Il2 if I try to download a file from the internet I can get it at the usual rate of download, or when downloading in p2p programs im getting still good speed downloads.

So my question is what am I doing wrong or were is the problem? if this testing servers are giving me a low ping, and Im getting a good response (at least the one that u want when u r runing at 1 mb) if It seems that the other game works fine, and before some answers "u have a trojan in ur system" Last weekend I used antivirus, adware and spyware tools to search for problems and I found nothing on my system even after I found nothing I decided to format my machine and the problem is still here.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the exact same issues. I have a good internet connection on al other applications, I even get a good ping when when i ping the public servers. Sometimes i cant log on at all, when i do get on my ping, spikes and i get kicked. I have seen it as low as 100 and as high as 1100, Anyone have an deas ( completely reinstalled il2 1946 hyperlobby, and reconfigured my router SEVERAL times and done a hugh amount of research on router settings all seems ok)

Speed is not always an indicator of "ping".

You can have good speed and poor latency and packet loss. (latency is ping).

Things to look into.

PCI modems have worse latency and "warp" than external modems.

If your cable modem is internal on a PCI card, this may be the problem.

Node traffic can be an issue, if there are a lot of users on your nearest
server, the lag can be severe.

DSL modems never seem to ping as well as Cable. This is especially
true if the DSL modem is internal.

Things to check. -------------------------------------------

It could be the remote computer (server/host) with the problem.
Try another server.

Are you connecting through another computer?
if the other computer is running a task it will cause problems.

Are you running more than one computer on a hub or router?
They can lag you as they manage the traffic.

Are all your connections good and the cable in good condition?
I have had this problem, I had to re-wire my house (cable).

Are you running a paralell network or have other computers serving
on your PC?
Try disabling any network cards that are not directly used in on line gaming.

Are you on a wireless network?
Wireless is succeptable to interferance and hackers.

I am assuming you people have compurers that are up to on line gaming
in IL2.
Computer performance seems not to be the issue here.
