Hello,

everytime try to connect to HL it closes on me, and after reading some of the posts here i'm starting to think things are a bit crazy.

it seems i jumped out of playing Zeke Vs Hellcat , and as i ussually do, went to see what was goin on in chat.

a few guys were going on about america, new zealand france and australia.

i said something like "you guys are idiots, i'm out" and just as it went to close HL it said connection closed, and i thought that it was a bit wierd.

jump forward to now and it seems i have been banned for saying that i was leaving in chat?

there would seem to be some real double standards in HL chat moderating, as some of the things i have seen written by IL2 identites (no names mentioned) have been pretty insane.

i demand that a someone fix this up

That very thing happened to me last night when one of the admins started an argument with someone. By the rules, the admin was the one in the wrong. But then when he couldn't take the heat, he takes it upon himself to start banning everyone.

Hell, I got banned for not even talking about politics. I was talking about HISTORY, like the Battle of Dunkirk and some events that transpired as a result of WWI. I never said a single political statement.

I don't know if the admins are racist or what, but they tend to only kick out certain people. Maybe it all boils down to who is on the admins buddy list, and who isn't. That in itself, is politics and a political system embedded within HL.

i'm really starting to get sick of HL.... i still cant log on

all i said was that i was leaving, i didnt even know that you could get banned from HL and ive been playing on it for 3 years.

pull the chat logs and you will see what i said.

i know the admin that did it and if he does it again i will report him.

fortunately when BoB comes out HL will pretty much die because IL2 is what makes it popular

I hear ya, i've been getting sick of it too. Seems you have a social clique, or country club, among certain people. And I've seen certain people call people names, make racist attacks, you name it, and not a single one of them has been banned. That's why I say that there is a political system embedded within HL itself. I don't know Jiri from a hole in the ground, but it's pretty obvious this is the first game lobby he's ever been on.

I've probably been gaming on the internet, or fidonet, and bbs's longer than 99.4% of HL users have been alive.

Jiri should make a "punishment" in HL, that is a fingersnap easy as pie code to add to the program, it's called a "muzzle".

Back in the old days of Hawaii/TEN/HEAT gaming services more than 10 years ago, they had a "muzzle" system in which if someone broke the rules, they would be unable to chat for 24 hours, or 72 hours, or permanent. They could still use the service and play games. However, since most of the gaming was based around Papyrus's awesome Nascar Racing series of games, naturally you could still get banned from gameplay if you deliberately went onto a server and caused intentional mayhem on the track.

Course, that led to things like, server hosts booting everyone on the last lap of the race if he wasn't in the lead. Giving him a win, and greatly increasing his ratings at the expense of those he kicked off the server.

That became known as the "homefield advantage". You never passed the game host on the last lap of the race.

Just like in HL, you don't go and shoot down the game host of a flight sim server, else you will swiftly get booted. And if you are particularly better than the game host, you will not only be banned from their game server, but Jiri will make sure you are banned from HL too.
