Help, cant connecct :(

Hello all. (particularlly Jiri:)

Had HL running fine on my box and with no problems.
I then changed the processor, ram, and case/PS and re built it and
now I cant seem to connect anymore. I tried reinstalling HL
again, and still no luck. I get an error message saying;

Error Socket: 11004 Valid name, no data record of requested type

40 gig Maxtor HD
ATAPI DVD ROM
LITE ON LTR 522465 cdr drive
SB Extigy sound card
Saitek X 45
ZyXEL ZyWALL 10 hardware firewall
Windows XP Home, SP 1 installed
Norman Internet control (software firewall installed
and configured for HL client, works no problem with HL)

ANY help would be greatly appericated !!!!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutely going crazy at not being able to fly online here,
and am desperate to get this working again !!

Please anyone, HELP !!! Smile

hey bro...not sure what causes that ...a firewall maybe...try doing a complete dump and reinstall of the program. They are places in ur registry that u have to dump also. Try using cleansweep program to clean everything. It might work. Other than that ...not sure. Look through the help forum or do a search on HL about it...many others have had the same problem. Crying or Very sad

...seems to be getting pretty common here. I know I wasn't much help..but hope u get it fixed and see u in the skies soon.

But thanx anyway.

I think most peoples problems are forgotten passwords,
and or configuration settings, firewalls, etc.

Now back in the air, and am finnally happy once again Smile
