Hello,
I am able to join games using the merged FB-AEP-PF 4.02 version of Forgotten Battles without any problems. However, I cannot host a game. I have read various relevant posts and the Hyperlobby manual and followed the various tips with no joy including portforwarding for both FB and Hyperlobby, setting up a static private IP, and allowing FB and Hyperlobby in my software firewall. I have also tested with and without going through my router, with DMZ, and with my software firewall turned off. What happens is I am able to set up a new game (I have tried dogfight and coop) where I can set and save the settings, press the blue button, then try to launch the game. I get a message in Hyperlobby that says “start, wait few seconds for game to start”. FB launches but then my game slots in Hyperlobby empty including my game. A friend who has tried to join saw the same thing on Hyperlobby on his computer when my game disappeared and could not try to join. So is there something simple I am missing here or is there a technical solution I still have not tried? Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Tom

When you start a game(df) it moves to the left hand colum and frees up the dog mission room for the next host.If your friend wants to join he should just click on your server name on the left hand column and then click join.(if you already have started the df game)

With a coop a player can not join once you have hit the fly button inside the game.

Hello,
Thank you very much for the answer. I was able to make some progress and at least my firend was able to try and join the dogfight mission I was hosting. However, when FB launched we got the common "timeout" message that the connection failed. He tried to host and I got the same error. So I assume based on what I have read that many of the fixes I have already tried detailed in my first post would apply to this error but still no joy. By the way, we also got the same error when trying to use the Direct IP connection option in FB. Thanks for your help!

Regards,
tsh

If you get a time out using the ip function then it is not a HL problem.

Go to http://www.portforward.com and make sure you have done it correctly for your router.

Also you can only forward a port (21000) to one machine at a time.

Thanks, I was assuming it was a problem with my setup though I have tested several different options. I used portforward.com before but I will double check my setting and try again. I really appreciate your help!

tsh
