S!
How do I go about listing a new server on hyperlobby? The Mercs Squad has a server, we just need to find out how to link it to hyperlobby so that everyone else can see it.

Thanks.

If your server is the merged version of the game (FB, AEP, Pacific Fighters) then just make a copy of the dedicated server's main exe file and rename it to "il2fb.exe" and then point Hyperlobby to that files.

Might want to also copy into the dedicated main folder a copy of your "conf.ini" file and also the folder "user" so Hyperlobby saves some of your settings.

OK, let me see if I get this. The dedicated server file to rename is the FB+AEP+PF exe file? I renamed it il2fb.exe. I do not find any cofig or ini files associated with that program. Is there a particular server file that I need? I downloaded and installed all the dedicated server files from ubi for the merged games. When I log onto HL, I do not see how to list the server in the active server column.

Thanks for your help

I copied my graphical game "conf.ini" file and "user" folder to the dedicated server's main folder. I did clean out some of the graphical interface settings as the dedicated server does not need them.

If you want I can send you a copy of mine, it is just used to save some HL settings when it loads the game.

You setup and start the dedicated server just like you do the graphical game.

If you need anymore help then this, I hope you have "TeamSpeak"? If you do I will give you a TS server and can meet you there. It will save a whole bunch of typing.

Sorry I dont use those anymore they got to restricted.

I take it you need more help then what I have told you?

Tell me where you are in your setup, please.

I will entertain installing RW again, if you have a link to download the software. Let me know what version of RW you are using.

Glad to hear it Merc. I will give you a head start on loading missions. I only use the ingame console commands to do this. First I will show a mission file, this will load one mission and allow it to play for 3 hours then call another file that loads the next mission, etc. Then the last mission file will reload the first mission file again. The following is just an example:

mission file starts here---------------------------------------

chat Map is changing, just sit tight while it is loading TO ALL
mission LOAD Net/dogfight/ 1/"mission name goes here.mis" BEGIN
timeout 180000 chat Maps are on a 3 hour cycle TO ALL
timeout 240000 chat If I get a bad report, you will be banned! TO ALL
timeout 9900000 chat Map will change in about 15 minutes TO ALL
timeout 10200000 chat Map will change in about 10 minutes TO ALL
timeout 10500000 chat Map will change in about 5 minutes TO ALL
timeout 10800000 f "next_file_to_load" ( I make one of these files for each mission I want to run on the server, then one calls the other) "f" is short cut to the console command "file" either is ok. Put these files in the main FB folder.

mission file ends here --------------------------------------

Now you need to edit the "server.cmd" file to load the above first file. Mine looks like this:

server.cmd files start here -----------------------------------

ban LOAD
f your_file_name_goes_here
f gc.cmd

server.cmd file ends here -------------------------------------

The "ban LOAD" command will load my ban list, if you dont have one then remove that line. The "f your_file_name_goes_here" loads your first mission file above. Make your names easy and represent the mission being flown. The server.cmd file loads automaticly everytime the dedicated server starts up. Leave the "f gc.cmd" in the server.cmd file as it is a command that frees up memory for the dedicated server.

Good luck!

Thanks.

I tried loading a mission file that I made. It loaded on the server but the client screen stops at mission loaded. I'm assuming that the files need to be put into the server mission folder and then entered into the server.cmd folder? I would like to have 4 missions rotating on a 1 hr basis. How do I go about setting that up?

I will get back to you before the weekend is over on that. I will write the four loader files and the "Server.cmd" files for you and zip them up for you to download. I am very busy right now and that is the best I can do.
