First sorry for my bad english and many thanks for HL Wink

I had read many posts in others forums about optimizing a IL2 server connection... But nothing enough detailled to understand really what happens.

Perhaps, here, somebody would be able to explain some points? Thanks in advance if possible.

1) What is exactly the action of clientrate = xxxx in hlpro.ini of host? What is the relation with the [NET] speed= xxxx we find in the IL2 conf.ini?
Generally, IL2 gamers use clientrate=8000. Is it correct?

2) I read that it would be useful to add a other line in the hlpro.ini of the server:
serverRate=xxxx
the xxxx value is e.g.:
1000 kbps (upload value of server)---> 125Ko/s ---> remove around 20% for Teamspeak ---> 100000 o/s ---> serverRate= 100000
Is it correct or not?

3) In the IL2 conf.ini, we find these 2 lines:
checkServerTimeSpeed=1
checkClientTimeSpeed=0
How works these 2 lines, what happens if we modify 1 to 0 or 0 to 1?

4) I have a online server with a upload of 50000kbps (50Mo). What are the right settings?

Thanks for your help.

clientrate is for client game session
serverrate is for server game session (dont know if it really affect server session limits)

in both cases it set [net] speed option

checkServerTimeSpeed and checkClientTimeSpeed is an anticheat options, more info here:

Many thanks Fojtasek for this old but very useful link Wink It answers to one of my questions: Le server AND the client have to set the same speed. I use actually SPEED=10000, perhaps with actual good connections, we could increase this value...
