Just found this site (after finally burning out on Descent 3), I have downloaded and run all three patch (4.08, 4.09, 4.10), putting them in my IL-2 1946 folder, yet when I start my game it shows V4.07 on the opening page, and I cannot join any games. What did I miss?

You have to run each patch and did you run them consecutively? one after the other or did you just place them on that il-2 folder?

After running each patch you have to verify if it was patched properly by running the game after every patch.

I downloaded each patch, and ran the executable file, specifying that files were to be placed in the IL-2 1946 folder (I have an older version of the game still on my computer). I ran them in sequence, and test-ran the game after each install, though the game version never changed on the title screen.

Then your either patched it wrong or the patch files you got were corrupted. I would download them again.

are you using win7?
if so and only have 1 hard drive make a new folder, call it il2 game or something. then install game and ALL patches into that folder.

if you have 2 or more hard drives then just install game in normal way on other drive, NOT C drive
