Today I fullfill with sad heart my thoughest service to the Squadron and the Community:

Our comrade in arms, Donald P. Baldridge, Staffelcaptain 1 of JV 44 The Redwulf- Squadron, passed away at 17.06.2004, after losing his long battle with Myelofibrosis with Myeloid Metaphase.

Donald was member of this Squadron since early 2001. I recruited him and as time went by, we all have found a true friend. Not only for the games, also for real life. His kindness and humor was a addition for us all.
His loyality and friendship was outstanding, without any doubt. He was a feared Focke- Pilot in all Scenarios the Redwulf- Squadron had joined.

But as time went by we all have had to realisze his illness and his battle against it. He never was complaining, he was always thinking positive.

It was a tough, long battle for him. During the treatment, and following it's conclusion, Donald maintained an optimism until the visit before the last when a Redwulf Comrade saw him.

Tuesday night, Redwulf__60 visited Donald again. He was in great pain, and heavy sedation. He recognized his Comrade and the presents of the Redwulfs when he came in, and they spoke a little. He spoke of the Redwulfs and how much he enjoyed flying with the Squad. Even under these circumstances his thoughts were with his Squadron and his friends.

He reminded us: Always go up!

As the night wore on Donald fought harder and harder. The Redwulf Comrade stayed as late as he was able at DonaldĀ“s bed, then he went home.

Early this morning, at 17.06.2004, Donald passed away. His Wife and relatives stayed at his bedside.

True to his motto, Donald never gave up in his fight, but finally the illness
took our friend away.

My thoughts, our thoughts are with Donald and his relatives. We condolence his Wife Carolyn and his realtives.

Now hes home and free. It is my believe that at one day we meet again....and we will fly again side by side, howling the song of the Redwulfs.

From today on, his callsign will be saved and wont give away anymore, his plane, his Focke Wulf D-9, white 44, will be placed into our base Ainring Scenery. Donald will be transfered into our Honorable Section of the Redwulf Website.

Thank you visitor to be here. You are honoring a great man and wonderfull person, a true friend and a real Redwulf...

Goodbye Donald, Rest in peace
