The confs.ini method that I explained above works fine for setting the difficulty settings the server uses, but it doesn't check the boxes in HL.

I've also found that the settings aren't saved when you Save Info. The best workaround I've found is to use a default setting ie Easy / Realistic. Unfortunately, the 'Realistic' setting since 4.10m do ...
