~S~

Is it possible to get banned without warning or notice that you are banned? One member of VR squad, is getting error socket 10060 -The attempt to connect timed out -for the last 4 days. On top of that there's no way to connect to this website. It shows:

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer

Reinstalls, changing IE security settings, coockies and temp files has already been tried. Member is on an ADSL connection that's working fine for other websites.

If there might be a mistake with banned people, pls have a look for _VR_Ghost . Thx for any reply that might be helpful.

Light,

I would also like to add that we came across this
Quote:
"TTL expired on transit" it means your TTL settings maybe set to low. To check run "ping localhost"
this will give u a TTL number mine was 32 when it should have been 128. I hope this helps
from another page and sent it to Ghost but that is not the problem, ping was checked and it is still at 128.

When you get banned, it will just say "connection closed".
That's all, trust me, I know.

You got another problem. i think you got to un-install Hyper loby,
delete the hyper loby folder and all it's contents, then re-install.

Your problem has happend to me, that's how I solved the problem.
I have been given a week off once or twice, it's as
I described above. Wink Confused

Here is what we got so far.

Quote:
ive repeated the process that Amethyst describes about 7 times now and no luck.

I will work through the processes of the other posting and let u know.

'Bad install... uninstall and reinstall. Make sure no other programs are running except basic windows'

Done again .... same problem

However what I did notice, everytime I uninstall HL and then reinstall it... it still has the previous uname and sometimes password that I had used, which leads me too believe that the uninstall has missed an old file?
I did a "custom" uninstall of the lobby, and noted the Registry keys that it gives to the pc, and checked they had disappeared on 3 occassions of uninstalls. Which they had, and yet callsign etc was still entered in the connection box once I had gone through the process of reinstalling.
I did a search on my pc for any left over files, and the uninstall had left Hyperlobby Pro folder with about 4 other files within it, deleted them, rebooted, and tried reinstalling, uname etc were still present.

Getting short on solutions now I know, last resort is to contact my ISP to see if they have blocked Ips from me, but according to the error guide from scorp that is related more to the no internet connection.

These are the solutions _VR_Ghost has gone through, we will keep ya'll updated.

Did you make sure the folder and all it's contents are deleted?
The user name and passwords are in the registry.
Sorry, but i will not tell you which registry keys to delete
for a couple of reasons, you could cause havoc
with your computer for one.

After exhausting all available options, _VR_Ghost has reformatted HD, but unfortunatley the same error socket: 10060 The attempt to reconnect timedout still comes up.

Hmm, I was wondering does this have anything to do with it?

This is whats different on my file:

mswinsck.ocx 6.0.89.88
msvbvm50.dll 5.2.82.44

I checked my file and compared to _VR_Ghost's file and these where the only things different. Are these two lines "unique" to each member for HL or should they be the same?

Ok, everything has been sorted out. It is a PipexDSL problem. For those of you that run Pipex this is what your problem was, your ISP, of course they were never going to admit it. Rolling Eyes I hope this helps others if this problem comes up again.
