~S!~ Gents,
I have been using HyperLobby for years. Never a hick-up. About a week ago, I lost access to HyperLobby and http://hyperfighter.sk. When I try to start HyperLobby, I get the following error message:

Quote:
Error Socket: 10060 The attempt to connect timed out

Quote:
Connecting the HyperLobby server failed. Please check your firewall configuration. HyperLobby program (hlpro.exe) must have enabled access to the Internet !

I have done the following:
- Contacted ISP to find out if there are any blocks - negative
- Contacted router tech support to diagnosticize performance of router - works properly
- Disconnected router and plugged PC directly to modem - negative
- Reinstalled HL3.9.111 - negative
- Opened port 10060 in Windows - no improvement
- Checked that hlpro.exe is added to safe list in firewall

I am also not being able to connect to the website (I am writing to you from work now). The rest of the internet works. Is it possible that my IP address has been added to some access-block blacklist? My IP address is 96.224.1-9.1-255 and I go by the moniker II./JG1_Lang

What do you advise me to do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gents,
I am still not able to solve the problem with HyperLobby or access to hyperfighter website. It has been 2 months since I lost my ability to connect to HyperLobby. I was on the telephone with my ISP for 2 hours (again) and we did a trace route as well as pinged the hyperfighter website. I must report that both test came back successful meaning that all signals are reaching the HL servers, but access is denied.

I have now spoken with highest level tech support for:

Internet Service Provider
Microsoft Windows XP
Symantec Internet Security (firewall)

All I hear from them is that the problem is not on their end and that I need to talk to the Tech Support of Hyperlobby Online System. So here I am, trying to speak to the Tech Support of HL Online System.

Please, look into my IP range and see if it is being blocked.

Thank you for your assistance.

Have you disabled all firewalls ?

If using Norton Internet security and maybe others disabling firewall still seems to block things.

I went one up - I uninstalled the firewall completely. Still no improvement

This situation makes me very sad. I have been trying to get the attention of the administrators for 2 months now and somehow I am totally unsuccesful.

My IP address appears to be blocked by HyperLobby and I need to speak to somebody who can clear the range within which my IP varies. I even offered to pay for the service. Can somebody representing HyperLobby who can check IP blocks contact me, please.

I get the error from time to time.
Most often it is caused by being on the wrong ethernet card/connection.
I have two, on two different networks.

Also it can be caused by a router being incorrectly configured.

Nortons can mess it up, as can the OEM Windows XP firewall.

All have caused me trouble.

Sorry i can not add much to this discussion except check all of the above.

I can fix these problem by reset rounter.
