Are you logging into the Forgotten Battles room when you do the search?
Hyper Lobby default starts in the Jane's WWII fighters room with a fresh install.
If you do a search from the wrong room the .exe will not be found.
Also Hyper Lobby will NOT execute the path to a game from the wrong room.

Very happy to see your problem solved.
Seems a common problem for new users to start in the wrong room.
1946 is the most popular game by far at Hyper Lobby.
It is played from the "Forgotten Battles" room.
Hyper Lobby was originally written for Jane's WWII Fighters
and default launches to that room on a fresh install.
Welcome to the Hyper Lobby community, enjoy!

Hi there,
I seem to have the same problem : HyperLobby keeps asking me for a WWII Fighters exe right from the start and there's no way I can select the IL-2/FB room.
What I can see behind the exe request pop up is the usual HL page without any text appearing in it, ie no game room list to select from in the upper right corner, just empty frames.
If I click "cancel" on the pop up, I get this warning message : HL cannot find game installation !!! You will not be able to access mission slots... etc.
All I can do is click OK, then the normal HL page display appears on the screen, with game rooms and all, but only for a second or two before I get a Runtime Error '0'.
Any advice ?
Thanks in advance |

Use the "CONNECT/SELECT GAME" feature and select "Forgotten Battles".
The blue green button to the left of where it says "PLAYER LISTS" at the top
right of the Hyper Lobby appelate. Hyper Lobby must of course be running to make this change.
Have fun!

Hi, Doodlebug & thanks for your reply.
The problem is that I get a "runtime error '0'" before I can select anything from the board. Here's a link to some screenshots I posted on the french Check-Six forum (see post #9 by Claymore, bottom of page) :
http://www.checksix-forums.com/showthread.php?p=867150#post867150
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A merry X'Mas & Happy New Year to you all |

Re-install Hyper Lobby using administrator rights and the runtime error will go away.
Be sure the HP game link is pointing to the IL2FB.EXE executable program.
For most of you the link should look like this.
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe
For Vista64 and XP64 users it will look like this.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe |

Hum, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "administrator rights". You mean within Windows itself ? I'm the sole user of my PC. No personnal account has been created on it and it never asks me to select one upon booting. So I guess, by default, I am the administrator, no ?
I've been playing on HyperLobby for about 3 years now and I don't recall having any such problem the first time I installed this software. Anyhow, it's a bit late in the day (1 AM) to look into this, but I'll give it another try tomorrow (when the champagne fumes have cleared up)
Thanks again, Doodlebug, for your help. |

When opening an install file right click on the icon and select Administrators rights.
This is one of the many features demanded by Misroshaft's lawyers to trip you up
during the install of software.
==Just because you own the computer this does NOT mean you have rights in the eyes of Microshaft.==

I just tried selecting Administrator rights but now Windows demands a password and, since I don't remember setting any upon installing the OS, I'm kind of stuck here.
I'll look into that new development tomorrow. Gotta get some shuteye first.
Thanks again

If there is no password, just press enter.

Ive tried that already, but Windows won't take "no password" for an answer. But you've put me on the right track with that Administrator rights thing. I'll ask a "windows expert" friend to come over and have a look into my installation. If need be, he'll just reinstall the whole thing and we should be ok from there.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks once more for your help
