I fired up HL yesterday only to get an error saying that some file was missing or corrupted. So I unistalled using add/remove programs, but when I tried to reinstall, setup would not run.
A small setup widow appears for a few seconds offering only a cancel option, and then disappears.
System specs: win98, DX8.1, VB as recommended.

try redownload HL, check your system with an antivirus software ...

Ok, done that, but still the same thing happens.
I've checked the registry, to see if there is any HL residue, which there isn't, so now I'm stumped!

Ok, problem was the win95/spaces virus! HL now up and running.
