Hi just joined up the il2 (original) server. Sometimes I'm able to online alone..other times i cant get on at all. I tried patches 1.1 and 1.2 but they just messed up the game altogether..i guess if i can get online sometimes (late at night) its a bandwidth issue?..Haelp would be nice if someones got an idea  |

if you want to play online you need il2 sturmovik 1946 v 4.7
than you can download 4.08m patch
and next step isdownloading 4.09m patch
this is all what you need to play online |

You cant patch from this old game you need IL2 Sturmovik 1946 v 4.07m
...
than you can patch it in to 4.08m ...and... after you patch it, you need to patch it into 4.09m ( not beta - it wont work here) |

Pretty much. original il-2, and actually Forgotten Battles(which goesup to version 1.22) havent had more than 0 players for a long time now. You should be able to find 1946 for max 10 USD/~8€, and if not, theres always the Steam. |

Thanks to the Russian fellas who got me the patch addresses. I'm updated to play the original sturmovik though i think there are only around a half dozen diehards still playing. Will get my hands on '46 but this patching issue seems haphazard with some patches not self installing and others bugged. |

Hi Greenhund!
You have old version of il2 (2001) and you can update it to v1.2 (or 1.2ov). We'll glad to see you on our hosts if it's right. Usually we publishing server via HL at weekends about 17:30-22:00GMT. Check "IL-2 Sturmovik"-room at this time 
Our hosts usually called:
CEPBuC
Utyug
turliga
tyrlizhik
PS You need first install the game from disk;
Then, apply FULL patch 1.1 (its size is about 73MB)
and then apply patch 1.2 (or 1.2ov)
Note! Patches must be same language version with game.
If your game language is Russian, download patches from 1c.ru site, else - from ubi.com |

went onto a server this morning and have had a few connectivity/time lag problems that have resulted in computer freezing and crashing. Then I got a "cheating detected" message....what's going on....is it my computer? |

if you see command Cheating detected that mean somebody is disconnecting from server or loosing connect of internet |

About "freezing". Do you have freezes in offline with many objects? What game screen resolusion do you use?
About "cheating".
Maybe your connection is unstable. Or wrong selection in game setup.
Start il2setup.exe, select Network tab and select correct connection speed (it must be less then your internet-connection speed. Try 56k or 28k) |

thanks Turliga..learning lots with you guys on IL-2 1.2. But last night after a co-op mission i came offline to find my PF+FB+AEP had corrupted..i couldnt use directx and the resolution was gone to hell and i couldnt exit the program. System restore fixed the bug..is there a chance that different versions of IL-2 are merging with my other versions?. I've noticed unflyable planes on some versions being used on the server..advice if you could please!..thanks for your patience |
