Howdy,

I started playing Sturmovik 'Forgotten Battles' online today. Awesome scenery and action. Trouble is, as a newbie, I'm having trouble taking off properly, avoiding engine overheats, and being shot down straight away!

.. Is there a forum option where I could fly FB starting at say 4,000 feet up, with no engine overheats, and with no stalls and spins?

Please guys, spare a thought for us new rookies!! Smile

Hello. You need to read up on basic flight and air tactics.

I'm having trouble taking off properly
You need to gain airspeed b4 you ease off the ground.

avoiding engine overheats
Don't full throttle all the time and if you over heat then back it off and open your radiator with the *R* key by default.

You could make your own dogfight mission and host it up with your preferred settings. You will have to read up on the manual that came with your game for that.

If you find it interesting enough join a squad. They all mostly have training programs for newbies and is a great way to learn about combat air tactics.

Take a look at the VIRTUAL SQUADRONS SECTION OF THIS SITE

Tip: Its better to be high and shy than low and slow Wink

Tinfish

Try RAF662, a lot of the squads, which fly across all time zones are using FB as main sim of preference,

have a look round, see message board, and recruitment
