does the new release recognize old .FLS files? I mean if i put my old friend list inside the hl folder it doesnt list my friends online... how can I fix this problem? |

This is not release, but release candidate. Yes it recognize old files. Put those files in to your datafolder and rename from hlpro.fls to hyperlobby.fls. Any of release candidates can do automatic datafiles upgrade for new version if you had old version installed by proper way. To get new datafile folder just type /f in to your chat and close HL. It will open your explorer with that folder.
All release candidates do it automatically during setup, if not datafiles already exists (from beta stage of development). This si quote from preliminary upgrade note for new HL release:

Datafiles will be automatically imported from 3.9.111 version (friends, ignores, pager messages) if you use this upgrade order:
1. Install new version 4.x (do not change default installation path !)
2. Uninstall old version 3.x
If you uninstall old 3.9.111 before before new 4.x installation you will lose your datafiles !
Vista/W7 setup will not run 3.9.111 uninstaller automatically. It is not posible when UAC is enabled. With those operating systems uninstall of old 3.9.111 version must be done manually from "Programs and features" controll panel item.

I posted this in the wish list but I will put it here also.If there is enough time before final can you put in an option to install desktop icon or not to install desktop icon? |

WinXP, HL version 4.0.6
The chatsend.wav sound it not working in the default_soundmod option. You may have taken to many kb's out of it.
Would still like to see a pagerout.wav and pagerin.wav instead of pager.wav, creating two sound files for ingoing and outgoing pager messages. I have another dandy sound file to add to that mix. Is there any chance I can mod that myself? |

Chatsend was damaged, will be fixed in nexrt rc. |

Will be added as selectable feature include startmenu shortcuts and extra skins. |

Hi Jiri,
I'm still getting the 481 "invalid picture" crash from the new 4.0.6 RC. Any chance that's gonna get fixed?
And I do happen to be using East Asian Characters support for my 32-bit Win Vista Business. Will that continue to be a problem? |

In next RC will be avaliable with new sound event pagersend. You can adjust your skin.ini files to change any things you like  |
