I loaded the latest version 4.0.9 and can no longer connect to HyperLobby. Actually, I can get into most of the game rooms except the one I want to get into... IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. I get a the following error:

------------------------------
Connecting the HyperLobby server failed. Please check your firewall configuration. HyperLobby program (hyperlobby.exe) must have enabled access to the Internet !
------------------------------

The odd thing is I can get into other game rooms with no problem. And I can get into IL2 when I reload Hyperlobby 3.x. Just can't get 4.0.8 or 4.0.9 to work.

I'm running Win7 64 bit. Also-- Zone Alarm and have a linksys router. I've disabled both of them and still get the same deal.

Anyone got an idea for me?

I have tried running HyperLobby 4.0.9 with Zone Alarm turned completely off and it still would not work. I can run HL 3.x with Zone Alarm on with no problems (other than the graphic issues with win7). And in 4.0.9 with ZA on, I can get into just about every game lobby except 1946. That's what seems so strange to me.

I will uninstall Zone Alarm if I have to. It was much more expensive than Hyperlobby, but not nearly has fun.

Oh, I tried to post my verinfo.txt but couldn't find it in the 4.0.9 folder. The file does exist in the 3.x folder.

verinfo is still generated in to HL data profile but its not needed. You may try another way to enter IL2 room. Connect to the freechat room for example and then change room to the IL2. It will be done without reconnect, if this fail please post here result.

I got into the free chat lobby fine, but when I tried to go to the 1946 lobby from there, I got the same error message as before. I tried it from all the other rooms also. No dice, same message.

Thanks for looking at this Jiri. It's not a huge deal because I can still get shot down plenty using the previous Hyperlobby version.

Previous version will be disabled after a week, so we must fix this problem.

I have installed zonealarm into w7 64 but no luck all worked fine.

I have suspicion where the problem is but i need you to test version i attached. It may report more precise error message. Please try this attached version if it return the same error message. Its 4.0.9 recompiled to give more detailed error result for affected component.

I tried your download. It is doing the same thing but this time the error says:

---------------------------
Error Socket: 0
---------------------------
Connecting the HyperLobby server failed. Please check your firewall configuration. HyperLobby program (hyperlobby.exe) must have enabled access to the Internet !
---------------------------

YES!

That did it. I can get into the '46 lobby! That's awesome. Thanks so much for your help, Jiri. My eight year run on Hyperlobby can continue. You da man!

Do I need to hold onto this download for future use?
