Patching

I ran into another problem, I'm installing the 408 and the 409 patch but it dosent seem to work becus when i launch the game it says its 407 and i cant connent to Online "battles" cus it says i got the wrong version of the game Sad

If you have this correct, check where you have installed v408 & v409 patches.
They need to be installed into the IL2 1946 directory.

Well when I join it's not the finding the game map stuff thats the problem it's more like the patches wont install, or do you mean i have to make a new link so HL finds my "new updated" file for the game?

Uninstall/delete all il2 stuf you have,

install new il2 to a folder, default, or for example c:\games\il2-1946 ,

then run patch 4.08 and target it to path where you installed il2, in our case c:\games\il2-1946,

the same do with 4.09 patch,

run HL and if game search dialog popup set the path to c:\games\il2-1946\il2fb.exe.

If all default options like autosearch fail, the game path can be adjusted also in hl settings editor. (menu>edit settings), look for section [IL-2 Sturmovik 1946], where is item gamepath= and set there path where you installed the game in our case gamepath=c:\games\il2-1946
