Just curious. You must have somethink wrong with your firewall or network setup ... I had related problems when i start testing FB to add in to HL. Disable detect ip from hlpro.ini.
When you have more that one network adapter, run ilsetup.exe and select correct IP of the adapter. Then run conf.ini in to an editor and check the character case of the localHost entry. it must be localHost. not LocaHost or somethink with other char. case.
When you have only one network adapter, run conf.ini and delete the locaHost line.
When this not help you i have no idea where is the problem ... |

I already changed the deactivated the detect local ip in (full version) as instructed in faq. I then changed it in fb and that fixed it. Looking back I probably misread the faq entry. Thanks though. |

Every time I have start to play alone (not online), Panda Firewall detected to" ILfb.exe trying to connenct to an Ip" this one is owned by Microsoft. (88.33.239.186 in Redmond U.S.A.)
I say to my firewall to do not allow to connect this one but I allowed to HL to connect always. ¿What happened? TIMEOUT.
Then I let to connect to il2fb.exe to Microsoft house and I did not have any problem to play online, no TIMEOUT. |

I have running Panda Firewall and Antivirus everytime..
I run sometimes Ad-aware 6.0 and I only I found Alexa ¡ of course !.
I run xp-AntiSpy http://www.xp-antispy.org/ but I did not change any recommended thing because I am not sure.
But, Jiri the most curious is :
Using the register cleaner program I can see:
Autor: Ubi Soft Program: IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles.
Autor: C07ft5Y Program: Il2fb
¡ Twice !
If you have XP-Pro you will see this register:
Autor: C07ft5Y Program : WinXP
It is the same register
¿ Any suggestion ?
If I would run XP_AntiSpy and I could stop that subprogram (which I do not know wich is) ¿? but I am afraid to do not play in HL afterwords. |

HL use the registry to locate game after default instalation:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles
When HL detect that key made a entry under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\il2fb.exe
This entry is used by default and have higher priority before ubi key ...
Any other keys are not used for the game purposes. Iam guess what regcleaner do you use, so i cant help you in this way
