Hi, I need your help in loading the CH Products HOTAS map for the IL2-1946. Where can I find the most updated *map file? On my laptop directory, where do I save the *map file so that when I launch the IL2-1946, it loads the *map file automatically for the HOTAS connected?

FYI, I haven't played the IL2 for a few years and am not up to date with regards to the most updated CH Products "Control Manager" and "*map" file for HoTAS (fighterstick, pro pedal and pro throttle).

FYI, I downloaded the updated Control Manager from CH Products' website but I didn't see any "*map" files for HOTAS. So I digged out an old CH Products HOTAS map file and saved it under the same directory of CH Products download.

First, I had a hard time caliberating the fighterstick, pedal and throttle devices. My laptop PC recognized them (showing "new hardware found...installed successfully" the first time I plugged them in. But once I unplugged and replugged them again, the PC didn't recognize them. I had to restart the laptop.

Second, I loaded the map and all 3 devices seemed recognized in the Control Manager. However, when I launched the game, none of them worked properly.

What did I do wrong? Is there an updated map file for the CH Products HOTAS? Where can I download them?

Thanks again for your help. I really want to "fly" the IL2-1946 soon. It's been a while since I played.

Thanks,
Richard

I use the Saitek X52Pro and X65f without any mapping whatsoever in IL2.

You might consider setting the axis' and so on directly inside the hardware setup/HOTAS section as well as the regular controls page. The only thing I never got figured out was toe brakes that work for differential braking. I simply use a button for brakes and steer with the rudder pedals.

IL2 doesn't 'see' my rudder pedals in the settings screen, rather the twist which I don't use....but in the game the pedals work fine.
Macros are OUT as well for me, but I admit I didn't put in alot of effort to get them working.

Give this method a try and see how it works for you.
