IL 2 - 1946 -Need help with patches for the DVD-Rom (4.08m)

Hi everyone, I just installed the IL 2 - 1946 DVD version (bought from amazon.com; the case says "Made in Europe") on my PC (Windows 7 Home Premium).

I installed the 4.08m patch and am able to run the game in Windows 7 with no problems.

I'd like to join you guys "flying" on HL but don't know what additional patches I need to download. 4.09m or some other versions of 4.09m?

I googled and found a 4.09m + xxx 1.33 and installed. But when I tried to log in on HL, I got error message "... your version is different from 4.09m for this game".

What's the most used patch versions on Hyperlobbby for IL 2 -1946? Can you please include a link for the patch download?

I appreciate your help and look forward to "flying" with you.

Hello Richard,

The current version used in IL2/HL is 4.09m

You should probably use the international version listed at the top.

Unfortunately, since you installed an old mod, you may have to start from the beginning.

Install the program from DVD. Install 4.08m, then 4.09m

Then you can join all stock 4.09m servers via the lobby.

Hi, thanks very much for posting the links to the patches.

I uninstalled everything from my PC and reinstalled from the DVD-rom, then 4.08m and 4.09m. However, I still could not connect to Hyperlobby. I tried more than 10 different rooms and I got the following messages:

"Connection attempt to remote host rejected. Reason: Server uses a different version of the game (4.09m)"

OR

"Connection attempt to remote host rejected. Reason: Server uses a different version of the game (4.09m + MDS v1.13 for Ultr@Pack)"

BTW, I'm able to run the 1946 on my PC and played the tracks, etc. What's the problem with my installation? Is it compitability problem with Windows 7? Or improper installation or wrong patches?

I really want to play on HL and appreciate your help.

Hi, I re-extracted the 4.09m to the IL2 1946 game folder. Now it's working. See you in the "sky" soon.

When I the 1946, the screen orentation is always 4:3 (the traditional size) even on a 16:9 wide screen (the display is in the middle portion and the left/right 1/4 screen area are black).

Is there any way you can change the display to fit the full 16:9 wide screen? Or the game is just designed to fit in the traditional 4:3 monitor.

That's an interesting question Richard.....

I've run 1946 on just one of my 26" TFTs and it filled the screen at 800x600, 1024 and 1650. I would say the solution is in your video chipset control utility under scaling options.

I cannot be more specific than that because I've never run into this particular issue before.

Hi all.
Can you help me pls?
I installed the il2 1946 and i updated the game (4.09m) but i can't play olnilne. (connection time out) I added the 21000port to my router but it didn't help. pls help me if you have got some idea for this problem. Sad
